Well, my bracket took the proverbial smackdown this weekend.

On Saturday night in a matter of 15 minutes, I nearly lost the two final four teams on the right side of my bracket. Pitt was soundly defeated, and UCLA (who I have in the Championship) trailed for most of the second half until a stellar comeback and an emphatic jam with time expiring (see highlights).

On Sunday, Georgetown, my pick to win it all, tanked it on Sunday and was knocked out in the second round.

Two of my final four team and my overall champion are gone. This Weekend Bracketologist only lasted one weekend this year.

From here on out, I’m switching my allegiances to Villanova. They’re a Philly team, and since my bracket is now irrelevant, I’m saying “Go Wildcats”.

Elite Eight: North Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas, <strike>Georgetown</strike>, <strike>Pittsburgh</strike>, Stanford, UCLA, <strike>Duke</strike>
Final Four: North Carolina, <strike>Georgetown</strike>, <strike>Pittsburgh</strike>, UCLA
Championship: <strike>Georgetown</strike>, UCLA
Champion: <strike>Georgetown</strike>, 74-69

Teams Still In (March 23rd – Second Round Complete)
Round of 32: 22/32
Sweet Sixteen: 10/16
Elite Eight: 5/8
Final Four: 2/4
Championship: 1/2
